Grey Owl is an old-time fiddle tune from the Canadian prairies written by Métis fiddler John Arcand on July 2, 1989, near Grey Owl Estates in Saskatoon. This piece stands as one of Arcand’s notable compositions among his over 390 original tunes. Grey Owl is in the key of D and has some interesting bowing. The tune includes an extra 2/4 measure to make the A part crooked, which is characteristic of Métis fiddle style.
