About Heritage Tunes

This is my fiddle practice journal, made public. I started learning to play in 2021, focusing mainly on old-time, bluegrass, and other traditional fiddle music. This website serves as my personal collection of tunes, techniques, and resources I’ve found helpful.

As I’ve progressed, I’ve accumulated sheet music, audio recordings, practice notes, and helpful resources from teachers, workshops, and fellow musicians. Rather than keeping these resources tucked away in folders and notebooks, I created this digital space to organize and share them.

What You’ll Find Here

Tune Book: Resources to help you learn tunes with sheet music, recordings, and links to online lessons

Practice Notes: Insights and techniques I’ve picked up from lessons, workshops, and personal practice sessions

Resource Library: Books, online courses, YouTube channels, and other materials that have been helped me improve

Why Share?

The fiddle community has always been built on sharing knowledge and supporting one another’s musical growth. Every tune I’ve learned came from someone else’s willingness to pass it along, and every technique I’ve mastered was taught by someone who took the time to share their knowledge.

By sharing my personal collection and learning experiences, I hope to contribute back to this generous community. Whether you’re a complete beginner looking for your first tunes or a more advanced player seeking new challenges, I hope you’ll find something useful.

A Living Document

This site grows and evolves as I do. New tunes get added as I learn them, resources are updated as I discover better materials, and my understanding deepens with each practice session. It’s not a polished, expert-level resource—it’s an honest reflection of one person’s learning journey, with all the excitement, frustration, breakthroughs, and discoveries that come with it.
