Alabama Jubilee

G majorSong

A ragtime-era popular song with music by George L. Cobb and lyrics by Jack Yellen, published in 1915 by Jerome H. Remick. Collins and Harlan made the first recording that same year, and the Skillet Lickers recorded it in Atlanta in 1926, carrying it into string band repertoire. Red Foley’s 1951 version was a country hit, the Ferko String Band charted with it in 1955, and Roy Clark won a Grammy for his 1981 instrumental recording.
