A traditional Old Time breakdown in A mixolydian, documented from Walter McNew (1912–1998) of Mt. Vernon, Rockcastle County, Kentucky, recorded by Titon in 1990. The tune is densely chromatic, with slides to sharpened notes that McNew repeated consistently each time through; Texas fiddler L.N. Porter recorded a related version for the Library of Congress in 1939.
