A country song written by Gary Nicholson and Wendy Waldman, first recorded by Randy Travis as the B-side to his debut single “On the Other Hand” (Warner Bros. Nashville, June 1985). New Grass Revival gave it its defining bluegrass treatment on their 1987 Capitol album Hold to a Dream, with John Cowan on lead vocals and Béla Fleck, Sam Bush, and Pat Flynn providing the instrumental firepower; the single peaked at number 44 on the country charts.
