Davy Dugger

A traditional Old Time breakdown in G major, documented from Clyde Davenport (b. 1921, Wayne County, Kentucky), recorded by Titon on March 31, 1990 and released on Puncheon Camps (Berea College Appalachian Center AC002, 1992). The tune belongs to a loosely related family that includes “Old Coon Dog,” “Engine on a Mogull,” and “Shoot that Turkey Buzzard,” and was described by the Field Recorders’ Collective as common throughout the upland South.
