One of the most famous and widely recorded Cajun songs, ‘Pretty Blonde’ has become an unofficial anthem of Cajun music. The song’s popularity helped introduce Cajun music to broader audiences. The origins of the song are not well established. Fiddler Harry Choates recorded the waltz in 1946. The Balfa Brothers also have a well-known recording that is the basis for the version I learned from my fiddle teacher..
