A traditional Old Time breakdown in A major, played in cross-A tuning (AEae), documented from Estill Bingham (1899–1990) of Pineville, Bell County, southeastern Kentucky, who learned it from his father Noah Bingham (b. 1850), and recorded by Bruce Greene in February 1989. Jeff Titon’s Old-Time Kentucky Fiddle Tunes identifies Bingham as the sole source for this tune, which is distinct from the similarly-named “Kate’s Got the Bellyache” (#80), also from Bingham’s repertoire. Bingham’s recording is held in the Berea Digital Content archive.
