A graceful Texas waltz (also “Old Madeira Waltz” or “Old Maderia Waltz”) popularized by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason on their 2003 “Relax Your Mind” album. Originally attributed to Hugh Farr of the Sons of the Pioneers, who titled it “Goodbye My Little Devis” for a farewell dance before a recording executive renamed it. Hugh Farr’s Western swing style on the Farr Brothers’ 1978 “Texas Crapshooter” album (containing 1930s-40s recordings) set the early standard.
