Old Time Blackberry Blossom

Traditional reel in G major from central West Virginia, associated with Melvin Wine (1909–2003) of Braxton County. The only sourced version in the TTA is transcribed from Wine’s playing, recorded in 1989 for the Augusta Heritage CD Hannah at the Springhouse (AHR 021), collected by Gerry Milnes. The ABC notation shows a notably irregular structure with meter shifts, placing it in the crooked/modal tradition of central West Virginia fiddling.
