A traditional American old-time fiddle tune from West Virginia, created by fiddler Lee Triplett who fashioned it in the process of learning another tune from fiddler Doc White of Ivydale, West Virginia. The tune is played in A Dorian mode, typically in AEAE tuning or standard tuning. The tune appears in traditional music collections and is now played by Celtic fiddlers, old-time fiddlers, and others. It’s typically played at a somewhat slower tempo than fast breakdown speed.
