Big Sciota (Big Scioty) is a traditional American fiddle tune, commonly played in old-time jams. The tune is named after the Big Scioto River, which flows through central Ohio. Big Scioty has many regional and personal variations. While the tune has older roots, it gained broader popularity after being recorded by Skip, Hop, and Wobble—a trio featuring Russ Barenberg, Jerry Douglas, and Edgar Meyer—on their 1993 album.
