A traditional Old Time breakdown in D major, played in standard or ADae tuning, documented from Buddy Thomas (1935–1974) of Lewis County, northeastern Kentucky, also known as “Buzzard in a Pea Patch.” Thomas’s recording appears on Kitty Puss: Old Time Fiddle Music from Kentucky (Rounder 0032, 1976), and Jimmy Wheeler’s field recording by John Harrod is held at the Berea Sound Archives.
