A traditional old-time fiddle reel popularized by Doc Roberts in his influential 1925 recording with Edgar Boaz on guitar. The tune was recorded for Gennett Records and is included in the Milliner-Koken archive of American fiddle music. Despite sharing a similar title with an 1893 Tin Pan Alley song by Harry S. Miller, this is a distinct traditional fiddle tune with a different melody and structure. Also found as “The Cat Came Back”.
