A traditional Old Time breakdown in G major, documented from Manon Campbell (1890–1987) of Hallie, Letcher County, Kentucky, recorded by John Harrod in October 1978. Campbell sang a verse to the tune: “The Indian and the woodhen, around and around / The Indian hit the woodhen, flat against the ground.” Jeff Titon’s Old-Time Kentucky Fiddle Tunes notes the tune is unrelated to the similarly named “Indian Ate the Woodchuck.”
