Here Come Jack with a Fiddle on His Back, Going to the Frolic
Breakdown · Song
A traditional Old Time breakdown from south-central Kentucky, documented from Sammie Walker of Nabob, Metcalfe County, recorded in the field by Bruce Greene in 1976. Jeff Titon’s Old-Time Kentucky Fiddle Tunes identifies it as a local tune; the title refers to a sung verse associating a fiddler named Jack with a neighborhood frolic. Curator should consult Titon p. 90 for key.
